The Data Services Laboratory (DSL) of the General Clinical Research
Center (GCRC) consists of an area (room 3207 on the 3rd floor of Shands
Teaching Hospital) with five Intel-based personal
computers and two Sun UNIX servers. The operating system for the
Intel-based computers is Windows 2000.
A flexible and complete set of software packages is installed on these

Our primary servers are UNIX-based Sun servers. They provide access to network resources including email,
Internet and database services, as well as access to user's home file space. 12/24 GB DAT and 40/80 DLT
tape backup systems are in place to ensure data integrity, and servers are protected from power failures
via uniterruptable power supplies (UPS). |
