| An Introductory Course for Clinical Investigators | ||||

Introduction to Clinical/Translational Research We are pleased to announce the 2007 Introduction to Clinical/Translational Research Course offered by the General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) through the College of Medicine to all Health Science Center junior faculty, fellows and others interested in patient-oriented research careers. Now in its twelfth year, the course is designed to be a highly interactive series of 10 sessions led by various faculty in the Health Science Center and will include basic elements of study design, database design and management, health center resources, regulatory issues, and biostatistical considerations. We ask that clinical fellows who attend this course be relieved of all clinical duties during each three-hour session. Enrollment has now closed Enrollment is free. Preference will be given to fellows and tenure-track assistant professors in clinical departments from the College of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, PHHP and Nursing. The course will also include optional interactive small group sessions to develop an interdisciplinary protocol. This year, we are requiring all who participate in the small group experience (4:00-5:00 pm) to register for graduate credit (2 hrs) for GMS 6181 (requires tuition payment).
